2008-07-26 - Camden, NJ - Susquehanna Bank Center - 3 Doors Down, Hinder & Staind
On Saturday 7/26/08, the 3 Doors Down 2008 Tour made a stop at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, NJ. Also on this tour are Staind, Hinder & Jet Black Stare. So, what do you get when you put together 3 multi-platinum bands from Mississippi, Massachusetts, Oklahoma and a great new band from Canada? One killer Summer tour!
3 Doors Down formed in 1994 in Escatawpa, Mississippi, and are now on tour supporting their self-titled, 4th album, “3 Doors Down”, pictured here, which has received rave reviews! By the time 3 Doors Down hit the stage, the crowd was absolutely stoked! With hits from previous albums like, “Kryptonite”, ‘Loser”, ‘Duck And Run”, “Here Without You” and “When I'm Gone”, as well as, “It's Not My Time”, “Train” and “Citizen/Soldier”, from their new album, frontman, Brad Arnold and the rest of the band rocked out a set nothing short of incredible!
Staind formed in 1995 in Springfield, Massachusetts. Playing some of their hits like, “It's Been Awhile”, “Outside”, “So Far Away” and “Fade”, only further revved up the crowd before 3 Doors Down came onstage. Frontman, Aaron Lewis, who has also gone out on successful solo acoustic tours, didn’t miss a beat joining up with his band again, as they pumped out a great performance. Their new album, “Illusion Of Progress”, is to be released on August 19, 2008.
Hinder formed in 2001 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Their debut album, “Extreme Behavior” produced killer songs like, “Get Stoned”, “Lips Of An Angel”, “Better Than Me”, “Homecoming Queen” and “Room 21”. Fronted by Austin Winkler with Joe “Blower” Garvey on lead guitar, Hinder played an awesome set which made the crowd go crazy! Their new album, “Take It To The Limit” is slated to be released on November 4th, 2008. After this trek finishes up in late September, Hinder will headline the Jagermeister Music Tour in October.
Jet Black Stare formed in early 2007 in Vancouver, Canada and recently released their debut album, “In This Life”, which boasts fist-pumping tunes like “Ready To Roll”, as well as “In This Life”, “The River”, “Next To Me”, “It’s Over” and a blues inspired ballad, “Fly”. It will not be long before they too are a multi-platinum band like the other 3 bands on the tour.
On a side note to this awesome concert, after being thrown into fame and fortune, these bands couldn’t be any more humble and grounded. While it is great to make money doing what you love, they all seem very focused on the music, their fans and the freedoms we enjoy here in the USA, which our armed forces protect.
That being said, on July 5, 2008, 3 Doors Down performed at Kaneohe Bay Marine Corps Base, on Oahu, HI, as part of Bayfest and “Citizen/Soldier”, is a song written as a tribute to the National Guard. On, June 23, 2008, Hinder played for the troops on NSA (Naval Support Activity) Bahrain. The following day, June 24, 2008 Hinder played for approximately 2500 Navy and Marine troops onboard the US Navy Amphibious Ship, USS Peleliu and on June 26, 2008, Hinder made an extra stop in NAS (Naval Air Station) Sigonella to play a concert.
Also, 3 Doors Down, Hinder and Jet Black Stare all share a common bond with NASCAR! On May 17, 2008, 3 Doors Down performed in the infield of Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina. Hinder’s remake of Steppenwolf’s, “Born To Be Wild”, can be heard during every NASCAR race and Jet Black Stare’s songs, “Ready To Roll” and “It’s Over”, are both to be featured in the upcoming EA video game NASCAR 2009.
All four bands played intense sets and gave concert-goers their money’s worth! Talk about more bang for the buck! It was one of the best concerts of the Summer 2008 season!
